CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Ballet
A classical style of dance that focuses on precise conventional steps with gestures and movements of grace and fluidity. Ballet is the foundation of dance and where all other techniques and styles derive from. It is from this style of dance that the dancers are able to explore all other classes with strength, ability and artistry.
Leaps & Turns
Leaps and Turns class will focus on the training, technique, and execution of jumping and turning. Dancers will work on conditioning to strengthen their muscles as well as exploration and training of such tricks to push their dance vocabulary to the next level.
Conditioning
Designed specifically for dancers, this class builds the strength behind the technique. Dancers will work on core stability, flexibility, balance, and control through targeted conditioning exercises that improve performance quality, support injury prevention, and help dancers execute skills with greater power and precision.
Pre-Ballet/Tap & Pre-Jazz/Hip Hop
Pre-Ballet/Tap and Pre-Jazz/Hip Hop are combination classes for dancers ages 5-6 years old, designed to build the fundamentals of dance and concentrates on the development of coordination, balance, and the teachings of the basic ballet, tap, jazz and hip-hop technique suitable for their age and ability level. Although structured, your child will enjoy the fun associated with learning. Basic ballet, jazz, tap and hip-hop vocabulary and techniques are introduced through terminology, imagery, rhythmic skills, and instructor example.
Improv
Our Improv class encourages dancers to explore movement in a creative and supportive environment. Through guided exercises and prompts, dancers build confidence, musicality, and self-expression while learning to trust their instincts and develop their own unique movement style.
PBT (Progressive Ballet Technique)
Progressing Ballet Technique is an innovative body conditioning and strengthening program designed to enhance student’s technique by focusing on training the muscle memory required in each exercise in all forms of dance. The program helps with injury prevention and rehabilitation as well as enhances the ability of athletes to perform at their best. PBT focuses on core strength, weight placement and alignment of the dancer’s body with a gradual approach of carefully designed exercises and repetitions that trigger muscle memory.
Hip Hop
Hip Hop dance is a range of street dance styles, focusing on musicality, isolations, freestyling and many more techniques.
Dance With Me
One parent/caregiver must join in this class with their dancer as it is designed to be similar to a "mommy & me" style class. Dance With Me is a magical introduction to dance for the 2-3 year old dancers. A fun filled 30-minute class that engages the child in age appropriate activities incorporating drama, music, and props along with the excitement of basic dance steps, creative movement, and vocabulary. In a surrounding of our nurturing teachers our tiny dancers will be exposed to a variety of music in a fun filled learning environment.
Acro
Acro blends the artistry of dance with the athleticism of acrobatics. In this class, dancers develop strength, flexibility, and control while learning to execute acrobatic skills with fluidity and precision. Training focuses on proper progressions to ensure safety and clean technique, allowing dancers to confidently incorporate acro into choreography.
Ballroom
Ballroom class introduces dancers to a variety of classic and Latin-inspired styles through upbeat music and engaging combinations. Dancers will build rhythm, coordination, and confidence while exploring new styles in a lively, supportive environment.
Tap
Tap dance is a style of dance characterized by using the sounds of one’s tap shoes hitting the floor as a form of percussion. Tap class enhances the dancer’s musicality, groundedness and rhythm.
Jazz/Contemporary Combo
A combo class where equal time will be spent on exploring both dance genres and techniques of jazz and contemporary. This combination class will give dancers the ability to grow and explore both styles, connecting the mind and the body through fluid dance movements in contemporary and
Mini Movers
Dancers should be potty trained and comfortable detaching from parents/caregivers for this class. Mini mover class is designed to give confidence to our youngest dancers, ages 3-4 years old! By using familiar music, rhythm, and props, we encourage the development of basic motor skills and enhance the student’s imagination. Young dancers enjoy experiencing the joy music and movement can bring as they explore different styles of dance and express themselves in this positive energy class.
Musical Theatre
Musical Theatre is designed for performers looking to strengthen their dance technique and expand their knowledge of musical theatre styles. This class focuses on building core dance skills while exploring choreography from a variety of iconic and contemporary shows. Each week, students will start class with technique and train on some skills and steps commonly found in musical theatre choreography. They will also learn combinations inspired by different Broadway productions and choreographers ,developing versatility and performance styles. Emphasis is placed on picking up and retaining choreography, improving memory, precision and storytelling through movement. Whether you’re preparing for the stage or simply love to dance, this class will challenge and inspire you to grow as a confident, expressive performer.
Adult Classes
All of our adult classes focus on developing strength, flexibility, coordination, and dance techniques specific to ballet, tap, jazz and hip hop dance. These classes are designed for adults of all fitness levels and provides a fun way to exercise while learning new dance moves! NO prior dance experience necessary to join!
